Forward Friday recaps Easter Walk 2025... Common cups.. sharing a seat at the table.. Coffee shops are bustling, restaurants are lively, and homes are filled with laughter—life is calling us to pick up our cup, find our seat, and connect.
There’s something about the act of being face-to-face that can shift our attitudes, open our hearts, and remind us of what really matters.
Check out our 3 Common Cup Recap Videos below....
Let's Get Into This:
Video Recap # 1
The Healing Power of In-Person Connection
Food, coffee, and simple acts of sitting together are powerful tools for reconnecting. When we share a meal or a cup of coffee with someone, the world feels a little softer, and the tension a little lighter.
The small acts of bonding—whether over a burger, muffin, or hot chocolate—remind us that we have more in common than we often realize.
Video Recap # 2
Reflecting on the Road to Easter
Whenever Easter approaches, I reflect on the idea of common cups and shared seats at the table. In the Last Supper, Jesus sat with His disciples—knowing they would betray, deny, and desert Him in just a few days. Despite knowing what was to come, He still shared a meal, a cup, and time with them. That’s grace.
Video Recap # 3
Lessons from the Last Supper
The disciples didn’t realize the weight of what was happening at that table. Judas, who would betray Jesus, would soon be overwhelmed with guilt and take his own life. Peter, who denied Jesus three times, wept bitterly. The others—well, they all scattered in fear.
But I imagine that after the dust settled, the disciples reflected on those moments at the table. Jesus knew their faults and failures, but He still invited them to share a cup, a meal, and a moment of connection.
The Takeaway: Value the Time, Not Just the Opinions
Those moments mattered. They mattered enough for Jesus to show up, even when He knew what was coming. And maybe, just maybe, that’s the lesson we can learn from the Walk to Easter.
Bringing Back the Common Cup
Not only at Easter, I’m challenging myself to bring back the common cup—the act of sitting with others, no matter the differences, and sharing a moment of connection.
And maybe, just maybe, we could take it a step further: when you sit at the table, why not bring an extra seat for someone who needs it?

I’m working on it. Will you join me on this journey?
