Forward Friday… The Legacy Of The Seed….Our Destiny Is In The Seed…. Legacy Moments

This past week was the week of transitions in our schools.

Last day of school means graduation for seniors, moving on up to the next grade/level for other students and of course, a summer well deserved break after a tough year of learning in a messed up season of life.

I was asked to give out an award to a student who I had a number of encounters with and for the most part, they were all pretty good. This student has had a hard beginning to life; disowned by his mother, in and out of the foster care system and for most of it, he doesn’t see the point of really trying or caring too much or so it would seem.

Anyway, I was excited to be able to give him the Sportsmanship award for this school year and when I was making my remarks, this came out…..

“If you only knew what was inside of you, the potential, the abilities, the opportunities, you would do whatever you could, to even find someone who could help you grow the seed inside of you because it’s there; waiting for you to discover your destiny!”

Forward Friday is all about the legacy of the seed(s) inside of all of us; it is there and we are never too young or old to grow in our potential and destiny because It…Is…There!!!

Let’s Get Into This!

A few years ago, a friend of mine was going through a rough time as she had been mistreated and felt her gifting’s were being marginalized to the point that she began to doubt in her abilities.

I was a speaker at conference recently and someone mentioned the same thing and it reminded me of something I sent my friend to help her think things out a little different.

This is what I sent her and hope it helps you today.

So, it is clear that we have quite a tool box of gifting’s that we have been blessed with. Sometimes, it would appear that what we have, what we know, what we see are only seen by us and it is almost oblivious to those around us, especially the those ahead or above us. It could even be friends or family who deny or their words seems to shake our confidence of who we are and who we can become and are becoming.

It is important to remember that just because our gifts seem to be not noticed, undervalued, ignored does not mean that they are not there or irrelevant.

All the more to allow what has been placed in us, acquired, learned to continue to give us hope that at the right time, what we see on the inside will become a reality on the outside.

Throwing dirt on a seed only increases its value.

I've been thinking more about the seed in the ground. It's funny that the seed goes into the ground and has no control over the weather (circumstances, conflicts, treatment).

The only thing it has going for it is the one who works the ground it is placed in to give it the best chance to germinate and bloom at the right time.

Most of the growing of the seed is done in the dark; lonely, not clearly being able to see the end product, the stretching, the ritual of each day almost seemingly looking, mirroring the previous day but make no mistake that the seed is growing.

A seed neither fears light nor darkness, but uses both to grow

No matter the weather time we may be living in, we need to cultivate good ground; moisture, the right mix of soil so that seed is poised for its intended purpose.

While it is perfectly understandable when the weather doesn't comply with our vision of where we should be to feel like we are being given the short end of the stick, we can't allow bitterness, anger, depression, revenge, hopelessness among other things to win the day.

When seeds want to rise they drop everything that is weighing them down

The seed really matters because it is our gateway to our destiny because it is our destiny.

So while the dark seems like it is endless, we must draw purpose in the season and use it and its lessons to make sure our seed when revealed is mature, strong, battle tested, able to make a difference because of the lessons learned in the dark.

One last thing; when the seed/our destiny is still in the dark, it is hard to see exactly the full road of the path we're to take so any decisions during the emotional/turbulent moment need to be taken with great patience, forethought and wisdom.

Everything matters but nothing is as important as the seed inside of us.
No matter how tall or wide a tree is, it started off a seed.

Good Medicine

Someone once said, “Anyone can count the seeds in an apple.. But only God can count the apples in a seed.

There is a law of nature that is unchangeable, not an institution of man.

We can cheat or manipulate nearly all systems that men have created. The legal system can be beaten, letting the guilty go free. Our educational system can be beaten, passing students who haven’t really learned the material.

But we can’t change seedtime and harvest.

What if a farmer waited until he saw his neighbors reaping their crops before he sowed for his crop? Regardless of how sincere he was, or the justification for not sowing his seed at the proper time, he would not reap a crop overnight. The law of seedtime and harvest cannot be violated.

Maybe we’ve gone or are going through a transitional moment in our lives and we’re trying to figure out who we are and what we’re supposed to do; just because it’s tough doesn’t mean there aren’t seeds planted in our lives that are waiting to be birthed at the right time.

This is the perfect time not to quit, give up, throw in the towel or anything we can think of that will sabotage our destiny when it seems hardest to keep moving forward.

New ideas, skill sets, jobs, connections, life intersects that will not only change our lives but the lives of others for good but We must believe that it is true about us and not just for someone else.

We must believe that it is true about us and not just for someone else.

I firmly believe that great patience coupled with wisdom in dark places gives us the best opportunities to become the best that we can be and some of the scars, stripes, scrapes in the dark places will help us not repeat the things that could have held us bound, locked down so we can help others unlock their destinies.

Believe in what we see inside; even if we seem to be hanging on by a thread in that belief, the legs we`re standing on seem to be faltering, remember that we`re still standing.

It will help us to know that there is a wealth of significance inside; keep breathing because while it may be a dark time, it is not in vain and even the pain can be fuel and evolve the seed inside of us for greatness.

The revelation of the seed many times is something we already knew somewhere deep inside of us. It just needed to be drawn into the light.

Walking the seed legacy with you….

Dave

Here are some great thoughts to encourage us this weekend!!

When people try to bury you, remind yourself you are a seed.

Learn from seeds; they don’t die when you throw dirt at them; they grow.

A seed is a forest inside out.

We can't allow bitterness, anger, depression, revenge, hopelessness among other things to win the day.

Champions, like seeds, only gain strength when you bury them.

Truth is like a seed; no matter how deep you bury it, it will rise.
