Forward Friday.. The Satisfied Life Series Pt#2 Fitness.. What Are You Doing.. Are You Doing Anything.. Momentum Moments 2024

Forward Friday continues The Satisfied Life Series Pt#2, Fitness..

What are you doing? Are you doing anything?

We must move, no matter our age or the times we live in. Sometimes, we just have to move. Walk, run, join a fitness club, sport but we need to move.

Our body and essentially our life depends on it. So does our spirit and there’s good news medicine at the end.

Momentum Moments are there for us to reach out and take it.

Let’s Get Into It!

Check out this week’s video!!

Some health/fitness benefits

More energy

Burns calories efficiently

Decreases abdominal fat

1.   Promotes greater mobility and flexibility

Increased range of motion:

Lengthening our muscles, tendons and connective tissues can enhance our athletic performance and make it easier to move in our day-to-day life.

Injury prevention: We can lower our risk of muscle strains, joint stiffness and other issues.

Less tightness: This benefit is especially important for people who sit at desks a lot.

Better posture: We can correct imbalances, improve our alignment and have a more confident, upright stance.

Improved muscle function: Mobility increases blood flow to the muscles, which can help them get the nutrients they need and eliminate waste. They can perform better and be more coordinated.

Reduced risk of falling: When you’re more mobile, your balance is better so you’re less likely to fall, which is especially important for older people who are at higher risk of injury from falling.

Relieving stress: These types of exercises release tension in your muscles and promote relaxation. They can bring a calmness to your routine and improve your mental well-being.

2.  Stronger Muscles And Bones

Exercise plays a vital role in building and maintaining strong muscles and bones.

As people age, they tend to lose muscle mass, strength, and function. This leads to an increased risk of injury. Practicing regular physical activity is essential to reducing muscle loss and maintaining strength as you age.

Exercise also helps build bone density.

It is good news that we can reap the bone-strengthening benefits of strength training at any age.

3. Better Heart Health

Exercise can lower our risk of developing heart disease by: strengthening the heart muscle helping to control blood pressure and blood fat, promoting healthy cholesterol levels reducing inflammation.

Many studies suggest that regular physical activity can reduce chances of a heart attack by 50%. There’s evidence that just one session a week could help to protect our heart.

And The Good News Medicine Is This:

Being healthy and fit is beneficial for this life. But this life is not all there is.

There is an eternity to keep in view and the rewards are greater and more enduring.

In the end, it shouldn’t be an either/or situation when it comes to physical health versus spiritual health.

It is a both/and, with spiritual health and godliness being the priority. Physical life will end but spiritual life is eternal.

1 Timothy 4: “Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” 9 This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it.

1 Corinthians 9:24 Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win!

So, our physical self mirrors the spirit; we need to do something if we’re lethargic, not alive as we should be. Start somewhere but start now. There is no time like the present because we haven’t been promised no more than today.

I know you can do it!

I can’t wait to see where the road takes us!!

For a fitter, healthier you and I!!
