Today being Remembrance Day, I was reminded of the many veterans that I have met over the past number of years in various capacities.
What has always grabbed my attention is that to a person, these veterans never wavered in their commitment to do their part for freedom for their country.
My uncle was a WWII veteran and he said that while there were butterflies when his battalion set off, there was no doubt of the resolve to stand up for and defend freedom not only for themselves but for others.
It has been said that Freedom doesn't come Cheap; it's also been said that Freedom isn't Free; it comes at a Cost.
The cost was much so we need to honor those who have given their all for our freedom. We are fortunate and blessed to benefit from their sacrifice.
During one of the assemblies a few years ago, our guest veteran recited the soldier's prayer and thought it would be fitting for it to be here to be read and again cause us to be thankful for our veterans past and present.
A Soldiers’ Prayer
Brave warriors, should fate find us in battle, May our cause be just.
May our leaders have clear vision.
May our courage not falter.
May we be triumphant and earn victory as we show mercy to our enemies.
May our efforts bring lasting peace.
May our sacrifice be always appreciated by those we serve.
May we return to our loved ones unharmed.
Should we be harmed, may our wounds heal.
Should we perish in the struggle, may God embrace us and find for us a place in His Kingdom.
As well, just below is a short video celebrating veterans week!
Thank you
