The New Year Is Upon Us!!!

There are many moments to be thankful for...

As I sit here watching bowl games, a little hockey and some re-run binge shows on the edge of a new year to come, I can’t help but think of the year that was and what is to come.

There were many moments to be thankful for. Family being healthy, together and still like hanging around each other.

Friends that helped make the days go by better.
Working with and for people that help make the effort to bring change to students worthwhile.

Being able to blog and write; an idea that was just something I wanted to do but actually started doing. I’m thankful for a mentor who bothered me a year earlier to start writing, blogging, re-starting a website again. Grateful for those who can speak into our lives with love, care and purpose for our benefit and growth.

Grateful for those who can speak into our lives with love, care and purpose for our benefit and growth.

I also thought of the friends who lost loved ones this past year or suffered some sort of loss or struggle that wasn’t easy.

Sometimes, I would get frustrated with some of the tough things we had to deal with but then I come back to what dad would say about grumbling about not having shoes until he met the person with no feet.

Makes the suffering moment not as bad as it seemed when perspective is meshed with that moment. I separated my shoulder in December; while it’s not all the way back, I’m trying to see a few glimmers of light through the obvious pain of rehabbing and I think I’m seeing some. More about that at another writing.

So thinking about the past twelve months and taking time to reflect …. While looking back with gratefulness for the blessings, maybe lamenting a little for a few misses or a little sad for losing someone or something, we do have to look forward into the new year of 2019.

we do have to look forward into the new year of 2019.

While looking into the future, I’ve been looking at the choices I’ve made and hopefully this resonates with you too.

In 2019, I want to be intentional by deciding which relationships, which practices, which experiences I’d like more of that will draw me towards some of the goals I believe will help me grow and positively affect those around me.

2019 is upon us; what will we make of it?

Happy New Year!!
